Innovation Management

Innovation is key. Innovation is creativity and a lot of hard work. You’ll need to create a open minded culture to allow ideas to grow. In our innovation management material you’ll find a way on how to develop an organisation and how to identify, create, nurture, select and transform innovative ideas into a relevant product. Innovation keeps you competitive – so you better make sure, that you are ahead the competition, don’t miss a game changing technology or fail to protect your intellectual property.

Engineering Management

Bringing a product up to life – from concept to production. That is the work of the serial development team. Engineering Management ensures that all functional targets are achieved and the product is stable and robust to be industrialized. The vast share of the product costs are defined during the desing phase so you better manage your desing to cost capabilities well and with utmost discipline. Physical prototyping and costing is necessary and needed, however shall be strongly combined with virtual approaches.

Launch Management

Building a working prototype is great. The real magic though is to transfer and integrate a product into high volume manufacturing. This is the most crucial phase of industrialization: The newly developed product out of R&D needs to be handed over to the people, that will produce thousands and thousands pieces – alle with superior and consistent quality, volume and at the defined costs. Man, machine and material are all new for this phase and it needs strong launch management to achieve – what we call – flawless product launch.

Program Management

The mission for the program managemer is crystal clear: Meet all program requirements in the defined timing, quality and cost as defined during the kick-off. Have always everything under control and be able to lead, steer, direct the program, when deviations occur, which endanger the program targest. Program managers know everything related to the program and can – at any time – give a clear and meaningfull report out to stake holders. They manage, they lead, they execute.

Quality Management

The term ‘Quality’ with respect to a product is quite simple: Consistently meet all requirments. How to do this is a science. You need a stable product, robust production processes and a working organisation. You need to monitor, track and measure quality to be able to control. You want to be preventive and not have the bad surprise at the end. The most important thing seems to be, that everybody within a company is living, breathing and believing in a quality product and operation. Then it works.

Team Management

Everybody knows, that you can only be sucessfull if you have the right people on board and if you can make sure that they work well togehter . And yet, many of us have experienced how difficult it is to form a good team out of individuals with different personalities, cultures and value systems. It takes time to select and grow a team and this process needs to actively managed. Team managements is a serious task, because it ensures the core function of every operation: Operational strength through collaboration.

Product Management

Creating a relevant product is a fascinating process. Product managers need to be equipped with all the konwledge of existing and upcoming technology, market and megatrends to do their work. Product managers need to be highly sensitive on what the customer wants and needs. They need to anticipate different scenatios and can be called the CEO or president of their own product. Resiliency, common sense, market intelligence and a strong visionary view  needs to be grown and managed.

Financial Management

Like it or not, but a companies can only be successfull (or survive) as long as there is money coming into the operation. Significant investments in product development and manufacturing investments need to be planned and controlled at any given time. Finance plays an important factor in the decision making process. In some corporation, this function might be too dominant backwards directed. Modern fiancial management is using real time data to make smart commericlal decisions.

Process Management

Never forgett: In a process you put something in, then the process is doing something and then (surprise) there is an output – which goes into the next process(step). Simple but sometimes forgott. A strong process management always has the efficiency and – even more important the – the effectiveness of an task in mind. Processes need to be streamlined and ‘less is more’. Process ensure, that all the operational and buisiness know-how of an company is stored, ensured and applied to new employees.

Material Management

It is all about having the right material(number), at the right place, at the right time, in the correct quantaty and at minimum costs. Material Management (or logistics management) has evolved to a integral building block of every company dealing with pyhsical products. Supply chains for the otubound transprot as well as inbound logistics are the key for managing inventory, ensuring delivery times and transport cost. Product packaging and distribution has a strong impact on ensuring a smart and green product and needs thefore utmost attention.

Sales Management

The objective of a successfull sell is simple: Both – the seller and the buyer shall be happy. Sales mangement ensures that this happens. Good sales managers understand the whole value chain of the own product relative to the customers business. Sales management is prepared to answer upcoming needs and ensures a strong voice of the customer inside the organisation. Negotation skills and techniques are key and the key focus is, to be at the right time, at the right place with the right product. How can you achieve this?

Business Systems

Running a modern business without top notch business systems is impossible. While everybody believes that data and AI is the way to go, in some companies, business systems are either outdated or complex and not user centric. Outdated legacy system or deadly overcustomized new systems are reality piece of software. While the IT department needs to be strategically strenghtened, it is often seen as cost factor only. Change this with a clear and smart business system approach. Give up, what increases non-value and beaucracy and make business system accelrating your throughput.
